BSAC have a 'Diving For All' programme.

There is no course for snorkelling.

We're working with BSAC and other local organisations to develop a 'Snorkelling for All' programme. This will promote snorkelling to people with disabilities and provide snorkellers, clubs and centres with the knowledge and skills to ensure that snorkelling is safe for all.

This summer we would like to plan an event called 'Tea by the Sea', to collect feedback from anyone interested in accessible snorkelling (whether you're a snorkeller or not!). This is your chance to help shape the course content!!

What do you think about the Scottish Wildlife Trust helping to write 'Snorkelling for all' guidelines, and launching this at Tarlair? We thought Tarlair would be great accessibility wise, with facilities and easier entry to the water. Are there any other locations you think we should consider? Is there anything that should 100% be included within any guidelines?

We are a British Sub Aqua Club snorkel Centre - and have a series of trails in Moray Firth area! Do you use these trails?

Our journey towards starting this project started back in December 2022, when we launched our Oceans of Value film. We collected opinions on marine planning, as Orkney was developing its Regional Marine Plan at the time.

The more we talked to people, the more it became apparent that a lot of voices were missing from marine policy conversations, with many interviewees not planning to take part in the draft regional marine plan consultation.
