In act 3 scene 4 Capulet tells lady Capulet and Paris that he thinks Juliet will listen to his opinion and marry Paris, than he changes his mind and says that he sure Juliet will go based on his decision and marry Paris. "The Man" by Aloe Blacc is a modern day song that portrays this scene by talking about standing up to the man and not being afraid to tell them your opinions. A quote from the song "Stand up now and face the sun Won't hide my tail or turn and run"
this quote relates to the scene because it talks about voicing your opinion and in the scene Juliet voice is nonexistent.

In act 3 scene 5 Romeo and Juliet spend a night together as a married couple and in the morning Romeo is forced to leave and Juliet is told by her mother she must marry Paris and when she refuses Capulet goes furious. A modern song that relates to this scene is "Rude" by MAGIC. The song talks about a guy in love with a girl and when he ask the girls father for permission to marry his daughter the dad gets mad and says never and lovers are forced to be separate. A quote from the song that relates back to the scene is "You say I'll never get your blessing 'til the day I die tough luck, my friend, but the answer is no!" this quote relates to Romeo and Juliet because just like the song writer they are both in love and forced to be separate due to the fathers decision.
