         <description><![CDATA[<div>Integrating technology into the classroom is something that has been debated ever since the abilities of technology have increased and technology's presence has increased in our society. I think technology is an important part of learning for emergent bilinguals because it is so easily accessible and relatively interactive with ease of use. However, it has been proven that language acquisition is much more effective than language learning and I do not believe that language acquisition can take place through technology. With that being said, I think in this day and age, emergent bilinguals should take advantage of all of the resource that are available through technology, but they must also put the screens away and learn through conversation and hands on learning. In reference to the Prezi by Cheridy Aduviri, the "Frameworks" section makes reference to students' depth of knowledge, there is only so much depth of learning that can take place with the use of technology for emergent bilinguals and all students. It is important for learners to strive for deeper understanding and a higher level of depth of knowledge in various content areas and that cannot always include the use of technology. In order for learners to develop their knowledge to a level 4, they must think beyond what it available to them through online resources. Overall, there must be a balance when using technology for learning. When technology is used the appropriate amount, the results can be very effective for learners and more specifically emergent bilinguals. </div>]]></description>
