I felt surprised because American people have a totally different value of education. In China, teachers are more concentrate on in-class performance and tests. Students are valued based on their test score.
However, American students have more freedom to participate in out-class activities and to join interest club. Compare to traditional Chinese costume, cheongsam is more modern and western styled.
Traditional Chinese costume is called Hanfu, and Korean hanboks and Japanese kimonos were developed based on Hanfu thousands years ago.
