Time of year that was often associated with human death

Belived that ghorsts returned to earth

Neighbors would share stories of the dead

Filled with mystery, magic and superstition

Avoid crossing black cats, not walking under ladders, not breaking mirrors, not stepping on cracks, not spilling salt, affraid they might bring bad luck
