I feel like a younger audience would be naive to the financial situation the Walls family is in nor understand how horrible Rex and Rosemary are as parents. An example is when Rex cheated on Rosemary, while an older audience would easily see the issues with the family.

What did you learn about yourself or the world through this memoir.

The memoir "The Glass Castle" imparts valuable lessons about resiliency and the intricacies of familial relationships. It demonstrated to me that people can discover independence and strength even in the most chaotic and insecure settings. The life of Jeannette Walls is proof positive that our choices about how to proceed define who we are, not where we started. Despite their imperfections, her parents instilled in her the value of having high dreams and not letting social norms limit them. My eyes were likewise awakened to the various manifestations of love by the book. There was unquestionably a strong friendship among the Walls family despite their mistreatment and struggles. It serves as a reminder that everyone faces challenges and hardships of their own, and that we should always approach others with empathy since we are not always privy to their whole story. The narrative exhorts readers to see past appearances and recognize the goodness in others, as Jeannette did with her parents.
