The emphasis on these illegal settlements shows that it's not enough to feel sorry- we have to stop the cycle of violations Palestinians go through under Israeli occupation. Although the site doesn't show explicit bias, it includes quotes from only Palestinian people. It included statistics for both the Palestinian and Israeli people injured and also those killed. This provided the details necessary for me to compare and contrast the facts. When looking at an injustice happening anywhere in the world, it's extremely important to educate yourself on the history of it to better understand the facts of the situation in order to decide where you stand on it. The United States, as well as other wealthy countries worldwide, have supported other oppressed nations before. When it comes to eastern third-world countries, however, the West looks the other way- neglecting the part of humanity that needs us the most. A solution mentioned in source #1 was to boycott Israeli-made products to protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people. While it is certainly something we can do, I don't believe this shows the full extent to which our wealthy nation can help those in need. It's time to pressure our government to do something about these injustices. Writing to representatives, signing petitions, and spreading awareness are all minuscule ways in which we can use our voices for the greater good.
