1. What are the multiple responsibilities of the various arms of the military in times of disaster?
- There are various factors driving the growing interest of the military in responding to disasters: assisting relief efforts can improve the military's image and provide training opportunities, and may also be a way for the military to diversify their role at a time when armed forces globally are experiencing budget cuts. With an increase in the incidence of natural disasters, national and foreign militaries can be expected to play a bigger role particularly in large-scale disasters, where the capacity of humanitarian organizations may be stretched.

2. What are the global effects of climate change? How it can be felt here in the Philippines?
- Impacts of climate change in the Philippines are immense, including: annual losses in GDP, changes in rainfall patterns and distribution, droughts, threats to biodiversity and food security, sea level rise, public health risks, and endangerment of vulnerable groups such as women and indigenous people.

3. Choose one hazard in our country. Research on its causes and effects and discuss how the hazard affects you and your family.
- Earthquakes are caused by sudden tectonic movements in the Earth's crust. The main cause is that when tectonic plates, one rides over the other, causing orogeny collide (mountain building), earthquakes. The largest fault surfaces on Earth are formed due to boundaries between moving plates.

Earthquakes sometimes trigger tsunamis, landslides and occasionally volcanic activity.
