         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><ol><li><strong>Attend an induction<br></strong>Health &amp; Safety inductions take place in the first week of the first term. This is a compulsory induction for painting students. <br><br></li><li><strong>Attend Tim's lecture and demonstration. <br></strong>There are two timetabled lectures / demonstration sessions during the year that provide a thorough introduction to painters' supports, grounds, paints and diluents / mediums.<br><br></li><li><strong>Painting Technical 1-2-1 appointments. <br></strong>30min sessions can be booked with Tim Johnson to discuss technical issues surrounding painting, and take place in students' work spaces. <br><br></li><li><strong>Individual / small group (maximum four) process workshops.</strong> <br>These sessions can be booked and allow students to undertake some of the processes demonstrated in the initial timetabled lecture / demonstration on painters' supports, grounds, paints and diluents / mediums. <br><br></li><li><strong>Painters' Methods and Materials Preparation Area<br></strong>After attending the health &amp; safety induction you can access this space. <strong><br></strong>It is run on a first come first served basis. Located off Room 114. </li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Painting Technical Resource provides in-depth specialist advice on painters' supports, grounds, paints and diluents / mediums.<br><br>It consists of a 'Technical Drop-In', the Canvas Store and a Painters' Methods and Materials Preparation Area. <br><br>The 'Drop-In' aspect provides an opportunity for technical questions, health and safety enquiries and booking appointments for Painting Technical 1-2-1 sessions and individual / small group process workshops. <br><br>The Canvas Store sells: 12oz heavy cotton canvas, 183cms wide at £6.00 per meter, and Fine Artists Linen, 183cms wide at £18.00 per meter.  <br><br>The Painters' Methods and Materials Preparation Area has a large 2.44 meter square table for stretching canvas and applying grounds. Canvas pliers and rabbit skin glue are provided for use in this space, and a brush cleaning machine for oil paint and collector drums for safe disposal of solvents are situated here too.</div>]]></description>
