Today I got to look at x-rays of imperfect crystals (coal and DNA). I am now doing research in France and Jacque Mering at Laboratorie Centeral des Services Chimiques de l'Etatin Paris, France. It is awesome working here and seeing the culture. #theparislife

So today y'all will learn about A-form DNA. A-form DNA exists in low humidity and water mainly. At work, we found some DNA that exists in high-humidity and water. I think we may have found a new type of DNA! #toldyadad #formb? #genius #cominforya

Turns out there is something even cooler about the b-form DNA! It has two x's on it meaning that b-form DNA is a double HELIX! I will show you the two types of DNA below. Can't believe I discovered this! I think I will call it photograph #51..... ya that sounds good!

Moving to Birbeck in Great Britain. Sir Randall is making me promise not to preform any more DNA studies, leave laboratory notes with all my calculations and experiments, and leave diffraction photos (including #51). On March 18, 1953 Watson and Crick had found that there was a double helix in DNA because Wilkins, their boss, told them what to look for. They were trying to steal my WORK! I was writing my draft for my work the same day. We both published in in the April Issue of Nature, so I got credit! #beatthat #iwon

Bad News

So while I was in the US I fell ill and I went to the doctor to find I have 2 tumors in my abdomen. I will be in the hospital for a while getting treatment, but I am trying to get my mind off things with science. I will let you guys know what happens. #really???? #cancersucks #fighting

During 1956, I have published 7 papers . I am trying to keep my mind off things with the cancer, but it is hard to. The doctors have informed me that I have ovarian cancer. This is Rosalind Franklin's doctor. I am sorry to say that she died yesterday. She was a hard worker and evened worked while she was in the hospital. She was very sweet during the time I knew her. She was loving and kind to everyone. Please contact the hospital if you know Rosalind's family. #rip #weloveyou
