         <description><![CDATA[<p><br><strong>1 - Vocabulary Instruction</strong><br><strong><br></strong>There are three types of vocabulary: tier 1 is basic vocabulary, tier 2 is grade level vocabulary (terms <em>most</em> native English speakers are familiar with), and tier 3 is low frequency content specific vocabulary. ALL students need explicit instruction in the third tier!<strong>&nbsp;</strong>Being aware of all 3 types is important, and knowing your students is key in deciding which words might need front-loading before a lesson.</p>]]></description>
