         <title>Gummy Worms by A Student (Student Sample Post) </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The two main active ingredients in<br>gummy worms are Sodium Alginate and<br>Calcium Chloride. Sodium Alginate is<br>made from seaweed (renewable resource).<br>Calcium chloride is made from limestone<br>(nonrenewable resource).&nbsp;<br><br>Factories mix Sodium Alginate and Calcium<br>Chloride to cause them to react chemically. As you can see below, when this is done, the calcium ions break off and cause the Sodium Alginate polymer chains to connect. This causes the worm to become “gummy.”<br><br>The negative impacts of making gummy worms on society include:&nbsp;<br>- seaweed harvesting can take away from other sea creatures and be damaging to the marine ecosystems.&nbsp;<br>- health problems, including obesity, can occur when consumed too often.&nbsp;<br><br>Sources: Burt, J.
