Significance: I chose this event because I believe that it affects the people of the United States socially and politically, by dividing the land of the United States in two and not only that but also its inhabitants, since on the one hand in the North they were against the practice of slavery while on the part of the South this was something allowed and well seen, which led to dividing the United States not only in land but also with its inhabitants.

Significance: I think this event is important because it affected the politics of the United States and the fact that Lincoln was elected despite having fewer votes caused a great stir in the South, which led to the beginning of a real enmity in these places, just as the ideas that Lincoln had regarding slavery were a great aspect that led to the war.

Significance: In my opinion, this event has a lot to do with the political side of this war, since I consider this event was the beginning of the war because with the South bombing the fortress, the North began to gather volunteers for the militia and thus be able to attack or defend the territory.

Significance: I chose this event because I believe it speaks volumes about the advanced technology and advantage the North had over the South, as it allowed them to send many more things compared to the South, in addition to allowing the North to develop a more efficient method to support their military.

Significance: In my opinion, this event has a lot to do with the intellectual power they had in the North, since they literally cut off what the South needed most at the time, which was a stable economy and a good method of trade. They also blocked the resources that could reach the South, leaving it at a significant disadvantage.

Nov. 15 to Dec. 21, 1864. Sherman's March to the Sea

Significance: In my opinion, this event has a lot to do with the social aspect of the war. With this march, the North devastated the Atlanta territory. Military objectives such as railroads, factories, and warehouses were destroyed, but private property and food supplies were also confiscated or destroyed. This event also had a political impact, as it helped end the war. When Atlanta was devastated, the South decided to surrender, which led to the North's victory.

Significance: I chose this event because I feel that Lincoln wanting to free the slaves caused a great social impact on the part of the South, apart from the fact that although the Confederates did not agree with this proclamation, it was still put into effect, thus declaring the freedom of the slaves. In the same way, I feel that it had a political impact because with this proclamation, the meaning of the war was changed, turning it into a fight against slavery.

Significance: This event has, in my opinion, a social impact since the Union government helped the slave people using resources from the South. This clearly did not please those who believed it was a new law, which led to its near extermination. However, this did not happen and this law could continue to be applied, which also helped many people since aid to the slaves continued to be implemented.
