The Proxy War is a part of the larger cold war. One of the bigger parts of the cold war is the Korean War. They didn't declare war on the Soviet Union, but they still fought them. They also fought the soviet union throughout Vietnam. Also being on different sides but not declaring war on them. They also competed with them in the arms race and space race to show who is more powerful. The proxy war connects to the present day because the US is giving Ukraine supplies to fight Russia but there not declaring war on Russia. Another present-day proxy war is Yemen and Syria.
