I work at the Congressional Budget Office, where I focus on public debt analysis and fiscal issues. I joined this program because I strongly believe that international cooperation and sharing best practices are key to improving public institutions. I enjoy cycling and I am also interested in education. My learning goal here is to broaden my perspective, both professionally and personally, by connecting with people who share the same commitment to public service. Thank you!

I work at the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of Türkiye, which is our national investment promotion agency. I lead the Policy Advocacy Unit there. Basically, what we do is develop ideas and recommendations to make the business and investment environment in Türkiye better. And to do that well, it’s really important to learn from good practices around the world.

That’s why I’m very excited to be part of this program. For me, it’s not only about learning from Korea’s experience and from all of you, but also about understanding Korean culture better. We already host many Korean companies in Türkiye, and the trade volume between our two countries is over 10 billion dollars. That’s why Korea’s experience in areas like industrialization, environment, and sustainability is especially valuable for me.

My name is Tarryn Warries, and I work with the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, which is our Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

My role is to coordinate South Africa’s international work on social and population development. Second, I want to learn from the examples we will see here in Korea and think about how South Africa could benefit from some of those experiences.

On a personal note, I love learning about new cultures. I enjoy exploring the everyday side of life, not just history, and I find that sharing food and conversation with local people is one of the best ways to do that.

It is a privilege to be part of this programme, and I am looking forward to our time together.
