Constantinople and some of it's citizens are wealthy from its ideal location. You could be a wealthy citizen. Constantinople is on the crossroads of Europe and Asia, and other sea and over- land trade routes linking east and west. So there are plenty of opportunities to trade. For example, from trading you could own ivory, silk, furs, perfumes, and more! Constantinople even has a chain across the water for protection, so you can be safe.Also, we are a step ahead from Medieval Europe. Instead of a dirty town with human waste, dead animals, and trash. Here in Constantinople we have a sewer system. Our ruler is also the head of the church! This is better because then only one person has true power instead of having a King and a Pope where both  have power which is bound to lead to conflict. It is also better for priests to be Orthodox because we allow them to marry unlike the Roman Catholics. Our churches are far more beautiful than the Romans' churches. They have flashy stained glass but we think that religion is not about how flashy we can make our art. It is about representation which is why our churches have mosaics of famous religious events. And also our church buildings represent the land we live on and heaven which is shown as domes. Join us and our religion. This intense rivalry between the two teams, the  Blues and Greens are so suspenseful. So what are you waiting for? Come on down to attend a chariot race.We even have magnificent works of architecture like the astonishing Hagia Sophia. Churches are symbols of an area's wealth.We are so wealthy we can afford hospitals, homes for the elderly, and orphanages. So if anything like the Bubonic plague in Medieval Europe happened here we would be well prepared to care for people. For jobs you could work in trade, or be a store owner, and so many other jobs.Even if you are poor, the emperor still cares about you. He  gives bread to those that can not find work. In return, all the emperor has you do is perform tasks such as sweeping the streets and weeding public gardens. So our government has to be great too. Our Emperor is the equivalent to a King and our Emperor Justinian is the best. He has proven himself a great ruler when he handled a rebellion and then rebuilt public works. He only wants what is best for Constantinople. He makes our city the most beautiful city. He spends so much of his money improving our lives through public works like bridges, baths, hospitals, roads, and more.
