Gaining audience feedback for my products has helped me tremendously. It helped me with the initial idea, as well as contributing to adding any changes to my digipak, poster and video. Using audience feedback helped me understand what my audience were interested in and what I could use from this within my video and poster/digipak. For example, using conventions such as drinking alcohol and smoking assist in making my video popular within the younger scene; typically because younger people have an interest in this.

I received my feedback for my video and digipak/poster in two ways. The first was through questionnaires. I used the website 'SurveyMonkey' which allowed me to create my own personalised questionnaire with the questions of my choice.

Above I have attached an example of the type of questions I asked and how my audience were able to respond. Using this method to gain audience feedback was really helpful and become a quick way of getting any results. Using audience feedback is almost like a guidance for creating the video and the initial idea behind it. I sent this questionnaire out to a focus group of twenty people, taking on board each and every answer. I used a focus group of the age range I wanted to focus around. This made sure the answers I received were valid and would help me when creating/putting together my video. The other way I received feedback was through hand written feedback. I received this after showing my first draft of my music video to the group. Below I have attached and image of just some of the feedback I received.

I knew that the video idea I had could possibly come with some controversy. Mainly due to the fact that religion can be a touchy subject to some. However, I wanted to go in with a positive mindset about it and hopefully display a non-negative message regarding it. I had to keep in mind that possible not everyone would have the same ideology as me and may find my video offensive. Before I played the video to my focus group, I gave a warning to the viewers that it may be of sensitive content and viewer digression may be advised.

Throughout my editing process I uploaded what I had done so far - giving my audience access to my editing progress and hopefully being able to receive feedback along the way. Uploading my video steps to the YouTube platform helped widen my viewing audience. By having my video on YouTube it meant that it could be easily accessed at any time.

Using note feedback was very easy to follow and gave me the ability to make quick changes to my video. Most of the feedback read issues such as Blurry, Unclear story line or some shots too fast. Although, most of the feedback more good than bad. Holding comments such as Good editing techniques, good use of locations or video made me want to watch until the end.

I was pleased to read over the comments I received from my video and felt it was interesting to see what people felt could be improved or what they liked. Although receiving feedback is helpful and does add to my video for the better, I did not follow every comment I received. For example I received the comment that some parts of my video were too busy. I took this comment on board and saw how my video could come across as chaotic. However I decided not to change any parts of the overlay (which is where the busy side of the video came into place). My choice not change any of this was because I felt the content used was appropriate to my theme of video. My theme being that the thought of religion can be unpredictable for everyone; not everyone has the same ideology as one another.

Following on from the feedback I added a few changes to my video and digipak/poster. For the video I slowed down some of the overlay shots, adding in some colour overlay to help relate to the theme of the bible, while as well as changing the colours on the shots which had two overlays - this was to help represent the two emotions being displayed by the artist at the time. For my digipak I enhanced some of the images used e.g. I increased the sharpness. I also edited some of the text, changing the fonts, sizing and colour. Lastly, the poster I made simple changes such as rearranging the logo for the artist, changing the text for the album name and making small differences (e.g. changing the colours of the star ratings - black to gold). Using audience feedback helped massively when finalising each product. As it gave me reassurance for the layout.
