1. The registered nurses are asked to provide safe, appropriate evidence-based and quality nursing care as instructed by the National law (NMBA, 2016).

2. As CPD is mandatory, nurses engage in education relevant to their area of practice (Mlambo et al., 2021).

3. Lifelong learning is an active process. Nurses develop research thinking, reflexivity and critical thinking through lifelong learning. Nurses gain new knowledge and qualifications to engage in teaching and learning (Mojtaba Qanbari et al., 2017).

4. The nurse uses comprehensive assessment and best available evidence to achieve the best care (NMBA, 2016).

5. The framework for lifelong learning for Nurses and Midwives provide structure for career pathways which add person-centred, capable and professional outcome (QLD Health, 2018).

6. Inclusion of national priorities, like care of mental health and older people by nurses from varied practice contexts.

7. The learning curriculum must indicate student preparedness on dealing with sex, religion and nationality of people in Australia (ANMAC, 2019).

8. Teaching excellence in nursing requires applying knowledge and theories from other disciplines to curriculum development (Beccaria et al., 2018).

9. The study time spent on learning contributes towards 20 hours or more of the registration requirement. Members are asked to maintain a professional portfolio to keep the registration up to five years (NMBA, 2018).

10. Virtual platforms promote nursing programme improvement (Visvizi et al., 2018). The code of conduct for nurses and midwives instructs nurses to learn self and others (NMBA, 2018).

11. Every educational programme must outline the learning outcomes and assessment strategies. The theory and the practical components are assessed using specific assessment tools. Programmes of assessment should include summative and formative and assessments (Bastable, 2019).
