         <description><![CDATA[<div>In amplify for todays assignment, I learned that tectonic plates are a powerful natural source that can move mountains away from each other. Seeing the diagrams really helped me see the process. It showed me that tectonic plates move under or over each other. It can also make new land or at least help make new land. It also shows me that it takes millions of years to happen so I won't notice it. That is what that article has taught me.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>So, the simulation in the homework section shows two plates colliding and one plate going over the other. They pushed each other and the one on the bottom was pushed further down. This shows how rock formations move. One rock formation is particular is the Nuvvuagittiuq Greenstone Belt. They were subducted into the ocean via a subduction zone and became metamorphic rock. Over time, the layers built up on it weathered away and it came back up from the ground. I found this really interesting. Also, there is a mystery behind how the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains have the same rock formations. This can be explained by the sim stated above in the text. My partner and I discussed a lot of things about the article and questions. We talked about Nuvvuagittiaq, the simulation, the student paper about the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains, and why the plates colliding in the sim showed how rock formations moved. This is overall a good lesson.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

This even told me how and when they were formed! Toward the end of the assignment, it will allow you to look at how the plates come together or split apart from each other. It is between 3.8 to 4.3 billion years old. The Nuvvuagittuq was made of sedimentary and igneous rock when it formed on Earth's surface.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The rock formation is important because it shows many things as an example would be, The Nuvvuagittuq which is one of the oldest rock groups. It is around 3.8-4.3 billion years old. The Nuvvuagittuq Greenstone Belt was formed at Earth's surface. It was made up of sedimentary and igneous rock, but over time has made it evolved into a metamorphic rock. To see rock change you have to be around for a long time. The rock can change from one stage to another and it takes years. There are three main rock types they are formed as&nbsp;ingenious is made up of liquid magma when it cools down. Sediment rock is made of compaction and cementation and is called sedimentary rock. The last rock type is the rock is a metamorphic rock when it is heated underground under deep pressure. Plate motion is also important because the movement causes folded mountains to uplift.</div>]]></description>

All of the rock formations from when it was formed have all been compact and have stayed together for billions of years so researchers can still carefully ex-amen this rock. The Greenstone Belt is one of Earth's oldest groups of rocks formation. It is measured to be 3.8 billion and 4.3 billion years old. The Belt was made up of sedimentary and igneous rocks when it formed. It is now only made of Metamorphic rock.&nbsp; The rocks on the Nuvvuagittuq Greenstone Belt transformed through the rock formation.&nbsp;Rocks formed from the cooling and hardening of liquid magma are called igneous rock. Rocks that have been made of compaction and cementation are called sedimentary rocks. Metamorphic rocks are formed rock without melting.&nbsp; Plate motion then comes in. Plate motion is movements caused by folded mountains to uplift. The metamorphic rocks in the Greenstone belt were buried deep inside Earth and were covered by many layers of rock. When the rocks were gone, the rocks of the Greenstone Belt were shown They transformed into metamorphic rock.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
