In just 2017 60,0000 farmers in India committed suicide. It's a huge problem not only in India but in our own country as well. As farming isn't as easy as we think the economy depends on more supplies than the farmers can produce. Another problem is farming equipment is expensive and needs to be repaired every new season. The solution to the high rates of farmer's suicide is by volunteering at your local farmer's market to help them operate smoothly or eat seasonal food that is sold at the local supermarkets.

After a tripling of prices for bread, the Sudan people are rioting for freedom and the downfall of the government who has been a dictatorship for over 30 years. May 20th, 2016, Venezuela had a chicken crisis, where the people didn't have access to chicken for almost a month. Since chicken is a major staple in the Venezuelan diet, people were very upset after they couldn't obtain it. Also, after being promised chicken would return and they fell through on their promises, the people began to riot and threaten the president, Nicolas Muduro.

Solution: Majora Carter started the sustainable south bronx project, where she began to try and make the South Bronx a better area. In 2015 the South Bronx joined forces with the HOPE program, where they began to improved their green house job training, expanded their partnership of NYC Coolroofs, and been accepted to start solar installation in the bronx. In 2019, they have continued these remarks and are trying to make the South Bronx as nice as possible through these environmental additions.

Displaced populations are apart of the trend of increasing urbanization. 60% of refugees live in urban areas. More refugees are moving to urban areas instead of living in camps. This means it is harder to deliver services to their citizens, which requires more innovative solutions. This means there is a need for more food, jobs, and social services. Most people live in medium to small cities, so In an attempt to combat this, at least 800 million people grow food in and around these cities.

On average organic foods have 0.8 pesticides and conventional foods have 3.2 different pesticides. This is very bad because most chemicals used on farms aren't tested for so these numbers are likely higher in reality. These pesticides can be toxic to whoever is eating it. Also farmworkers experience long term exposure which can be very serious. However, the USDA says most folks shouldn't be concerned about daily consumption of convention foods because the toxin levels are very low. The decision is up to the consumer

Lake Faguibine is one example of a lake that has dried up over time. Starting in the late 1980s, a drop in precipitation steadily dried the lake. By the late 1990s, the traditional livelihoods of fishing, agriculture, and livestock herding became impractical. Even though normal rainfall resumed after the year 2000, the lake remained nearly dry.
