She is a very courageous girl. Gratuity captures deadly aliens and attempts to drive a car at the age of twelve. She is also a little bossy. She is always on top of J.Lo no matter what he does. Finally Gratuity is determined. In the beginning of the book, all she does is think about her next move to find her mom.

Gratuity and then J.LO were on the hunt to find her mom no matter what it took. They took on a Gorg to find her. A Gorgeous is a really muscular ugly beast that is used in war. This problem led to internal conflict for Gratuity. She misses her mom and everything she does int he story is for her mom. In The True Meaning of Smekday, J.Lo uses parts from a gas station to create Gratuity's car into a flying or hovering car. There wasn't Human Ingenuity in the story only Alien Ingenuity.
