The rules in the Bible would be taken as  more of a suggestion then the actual word of God. I personally think the Bible is taken too literally and it should be taken as a metaphor. There are some rules in the Bible such as wearing mixed fibers of clothing that is not taken literally while other parts are taken word for word.
