This page had drawn in my interest as it was 4 column grid and the body text was split into 2 columns on either end.
I'm not sure if it would work in the case of a two page spread but I wanted to keep it in mind.
I also liked how the designer used the same typeface for the heading but used it in variations and also used a green. I would also be able to put in my information that I intended to have as bullet points on the far right where  the woman's elbow is in the image.

I would have to keep white space in mind to ensure my reader has a much more enjoyable reading experience.
The point size in the type was 10 points and I would definitely chose a 12 point which would make reading the article less tiresome.
I liked how the information is broken down into bite sized parts with bold subheadings,  but I would have to utilize white space in order for this to work.
From looking at the 3 page and my own experience I would have to ensure that my page numbers are small but legible.

My first thought of a suitable typeface was 'Futura'. It was used in my previous research project where we had to analyse a magazine spread, Futura was used in this spread. As Futura is a large family it altered many times to give emphasis within the design. Using Futura would me plenty of opportunities to create the emphasis I want. I realised it would be a very important element of my magazine but I also wanted the magazine to have tourist elements directed at a younger audience. 
I decided to combine the two by using futura for my heading ( sans serif ) and I will using another different type of font for the body text instead of futura.
 I had a look at the work of experimental jetset as they have plenty of examples of contemporary use of type. I really liked this piece of work as I would bring a contemporary edge to my mystical concept.

Its a reasonably large family so I will have the opportunity to incorporate emphasis within my design.
It a serif typeface which will bring the mystical element to the text, I believe this would be a great choice for my  body text. 
I want to do most of my experimenting using my layout rather than experimenting with the fonts

I had to fix the paragraph in the second row to ensure it was comfortable to read. My bullet points on the right hand worked really well and I liked the navy colour I had picked so I wouldn't need to change this.
I think Futura worked for the title of the spread; it gave it a more contemporary look. I wanted more interest in the title, so I decided to put emphasis on the word truth.
