My 5-year Plan

Talking about planning, I believe this connects me to the future. I wish I had an insight of my future, whether it will be good or the opposite so that I can plan better. However, sadly, I have no such power. Besides, a lecturer of (Missing article)the Medicine faculty in my college, Dr. Hazian once said that what we have is only now, which is the present. No matter how well our plan is, life does not simply go according to it. We can only plan, but He decides whether it will happen or not. We could plan to get married at (Missing article) an early age but who knows when we will actually meet our soul mate? Time is not something that we can control. Therefore, we should plan on what to do with our lives wisely to avoid regrets in the future.

Moving on, to be honest, I am not a medical student type, at least, that's what I thought. I never had an interest in medical field because in my perspective, medical students have no life. Well, they do have, but they only dedicate their lives to studying and face a lot of stress that I would never want to bear. That's how I imagine it though, it's not merely a fact. However, after SPM examination, I took my future plan seriously because I had to decide which course I would want to choose. I did not know how I came to have an interest in medical field, but one thing that I realized, I had to do something for the ummah. I wanted to be a doctor so that I could help those in need and be a martyr standing up for the discriminated people in Syria or Palestine. But then, I wouldn't want my life to be too serious. Obviously, everyone wants their life to be entertained and be fun. Hence, before I get to the serious phase of my life where I probably have less time to enjoy, have more responsibilities to carry on, I want to do a lot of things while I still have youth.

Firstly, my plan for this year, my main goal is to achieve 4.00 for my CGPA results because that's what every student dreams of. I'm planning to take my studies seriously after this because if I don't, the organisation that is sponsoring for my studies now might stop my scholarship. That would be a serious nightmare. May God prevent that from happening. I think of sleeping early and get up early so that I can perform tahajjud and then study. Furthermore, from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m, in my opinion is a good time to study because there is less attraction and I feel more energetic during that time. Within this year too, I want to practise driving. I do have a car license but I rarely drive because I don't have my own car and the thoughts of having to pay for the road tax and the petrol burden me. However, I still want to practise driving so that during my degree, I can drive my own car to campus. Besides, it is more convenient if I can drive because in my third year, I need to go to hospitals back and forth. Obviously, I need <del>a</del> personal transport by that time.

Next, I want to perform umrah in Mecca with my parents in the early month of next year. Going to Mecca has been one of my dreams. I thought, if I go there, everything that I ask from God will come true. Mecca is like a sacred place. There, with God's will, I will ask everything that I want from God and do my best to fulfil my wishes after that. I am sure I would have a strong will to survive in medical school and try my best to be better in the future. Better in terms of spiritual, appearance and in studies. I missed feeling tranquil in my life. Back in school, I had times when I felt tranquil. It was a sense of calmness where I felt like I could do everything and everything would go well. Nowadays, that feeling is gone. I want to find that serenity; tranquility in Mecca and Medina because when Muslims get there, they are less distracted by this worldly life when worshipping God. That sense of feeling could make my life better, I am sure of that.

There are many other plans that I have in mind but I have to pen off now since this blog post is too long. I'll continue later! Thank you for reading. Bye..
Really well-written.

Now, let's continue what I wrote about yesterday. In these five years, I would love to challenge myself on learning how to swim and how to cycle. Yes, it is kind of embarrassing to admit that I do not know how to cycle despite of my age. I had a trauma of cycling because I had an accident when I was small and was sent to a hospital due to excessive bleeding. Now, I would like to give myself a chance to try it and do it as a hobby. I believe that it is good for exercise. By the end of my degree, which is 5 years ahead, I should have known how to swim. Also, I want to try archery and horse-riding. I never had the chance to try doing these things but I am sure some day I would free myself and try these things out with my family or friends.

Moving on, I have always wanted to travel overseas. One of the places that I would like to travel to is Japan. I love the language and Japanese culture is so unique. I would love to go to the places I see in the anime movies that Ghibli Studio produced because they are so beautiful. The country, what I've heard of is so clean and the people are heartwarming. Another place I want to go to is Istanbul. Some people are afraid to go there now since the terrorists' attack. Still, it is a place where Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh once became a ruler of that country which was called Constantinople then. The arts of the building amaze me a lot when I see them on television. During my medical degree years, obviously I would be too busy to carry on these plans. But I'm sure I would be more busy when I actually become a doctor so I think it's best to travel during my semester breaks.

Alright, let's be a little bit serious. I've always wanted to be a business woman. From what I've seen, people who do business are wealthier than doctors, engineers etc. However, it depends on how successful they are. Thus, I would like to venture myself into business. I want to try selling cookies that I usually make during Hari Raya Eve. My family and friends like it a lot so I think I should try selling them. If I'm fortunate enough, I can use the money from the selling to travel. This is such a good idea. I also know how to bake chocolate cake and make Oreo cheesecake. You can say that I love bakery a bit. I love to bake but the ingredients are a bit expensive given the economic instability nowadays. So I rarely bake.

The next in my list is to become a volunteer or join any NGOs that involve in charity and humanity activities. I do not just want to have fun in my life. Instead, I want to make myself a better person. Also, I want to join many events like Speak Up! event or activities held by Englishjer like camps to help me improve my English language. Besides, these events are useful in helping the participants mustering up their courage to speak up in front of the people. These kind of events help people to become a good leader, who knows how to interact with other people and eventually have networking skills. The activities which involve group activities surely will help me in building teamwork skills. I would love to be someone that have professionalism and extraordinary characteristics.

I have no plan of marrying early. I believe that being single is free. It's not that I want to be single forever, but I don't think the time is appropriate yet for me to marry in these five years. I want to marry after I have a stable job. My biggest plan is of course, to graduate successfully and in order to do that, I would study hard and perform well in my exams. It's difficult to achieve, but God is fair. If you strive for it, He surely will give it. If he doesn't give you the way you want it at that time, He probably give you better at a better time.

To be honest, there are so many things I would like to venture myself into. There is a lot in my list but what I share here for now is enough. I pray that what I wrote here would come true.
I hope that you do get to go to Japan and Istanbul.
