Turning to Christianity

As a child Richard was raised in a home with no religion. He had a rough childhood where he believed there was no God and Christianity was a harmful religion. As he grew his beliefs stayed the same until one day he was handed a Bible. He read the Bible and felt very convicted and soon became a Christian.

Captured

On Sunday Feb. 29th 1948 Richard was on his way to church when suddenly he was captured by the Secret Police. He was pushed into van and taken to a prison where He was tortured.

In Prison

While in prison, he was brutally tortured and beaten. He and some other prisoners continued to talk about the Bible but there were bad consequences that came with it. He witnessed many prisoners being killed for their beliefs but couldn't do anything about it. Some of the torturers/guards he talked to turned to christianity but because of this, they too were thrown in prison.

Released and captured again

In 1956 Richard was released from prison and able to go back to his position. After three years he was captured and taken back to prison. Only now, it was for much longer.

Alone

Eventually Richard's wife was sent to prison too which meant their son was left alone. Some people tried o help him by giving him a place to stay but they got in trouble for this. He had to do it all on his own. He had been expelled from many schools because of his disagreement with what the schools were teaching. he spoke out in class about his beliefs and even though there were consequences he led some of his classmates to christianity.

Released Again

After being released for the last time, Richard was able to go home reunite with his family, however, they were very poor now.

Underground Church

Later on he was able to continue leading the underground church and spreading the message secretly.

Moving to the West

Richard and his family decided it would be a good idea to get away from Romania and move to the west.

Sharing the Gospel

Because Richard had left communist Romania, he was able to finally spread and to share the gospel freely.

Richard's Death

Richard passed away on February 17th 2001 at a hospital in Torrance, California.

Richard and his wife got married to his wife, Sabrina,on October 26th 1936
