This book was AMAZING, while reading it you feel like you are standing right there next to the characters. The book follows two story lines, that of Evelyn Gardiner, a female spy who goes by Marguerite Le Francois in Nazi occupied France. The second story line is that of Charlie St. Clair, an unmarried pregnant girl on a quest to find her cousin and avoid her mother's efforts to get rid of her "Little Problem" without ruining her reputation. The author puts a level of clarity into the subject that I had felt like I had almost experienced what the protagonist did right along with her. Unplanned pregnancy isn't exactly a subject that I thought would be interconnected with war and spying but the author meshes them seamlessly. I give this book five stars, if you have the chance, read it.

This book was incredible, it brought attention to the little known details of the background of Lincoln's assassination, how the plot against the president was originally just a kidnapping plot and they were going to ransom him back to the USA for the south's freedom. Mary Suratt is a character who everyone can relate to.
