I'm a little nervous about my first meeting with the class. We began the day by attending the morning assembly, during which they pray for a few minutes and read the gospel for the day. Following that, our co-teacher begins her lesson. She introduced us to her class as their practice teacher for the whole quarter. We gave a brief introduction to the class and our expectations. I noticed that in some sections only a few students opened their cameras and took part in the class. While there are sections where the majority of the students participate. Another thing I've noticed is that the students are accustomed to responding to questions by sending a direct message to their teacher. As a result, our cooperating teacher must read chats from her students.

Following our class, we met with our Practice Teaching Supervisor, she discussed the guidelines for the course. We also took advantage of the time to talk about our teaching schedules with the rest of the class. There are sections that are participatory, while others require a little encouragement to participate. Ms. Zulueta always urged her students to use their cameras. I believe I am unprepared because I am not yet used to completing a rushed lesson plan because our previous courses' topics were assigned weeks before our demonstration teaching. As a result, we will have plenty of time to prepare and practice our teaching demonstration. This made me realize that this is the reality I will face once I arrive on the job. Regardless, I'm relieved to have completed my first round of observations. For me, this week was exhausting and frustrating. I was feeling overwhelmed because I have so many things that I need to get done. I haven't gotten enough sleep this week. To stay awake and focused, I rely solely on coffee. I'm still adjusting to the situation. What happened earlier, added to my piling frustrations. Nothing seems to be going my way.

Fortunately, I was able to teach the second section without any issues with my internet connection. However, the section is noticeably less active, with no one opening their cameras. Even so, a few students are still responding. It is necessary to call students to recite in order to keep them engaged. My topic for today was a little difficult because it involved calculating the Price Index and the Inflation rate. Teaching formulas and computations are harder in distance learning because it is hard to demonstrate the computation process to students using a presentation. Although there are online whiteboards available, solving problems on a whiteboard with a marker is much easier. Fortunately, I was able to teach in a way that students could easily understand. I used Canva to its full potential and created a computation table so that students could easily visualize the process.

I can say that I am now more at ease than I was last week. I'm less nervous in front of the students now that I know their names. There were no problems encountered, and the examination went fine. In comparison to the previous two days, students finished early today. After the class, our group decided to have a meeting to discuss the scheduled topics for the fourth quarter and other practice teaching-related activities.  

I realized that conducting assessments in the new normal is incredibly challenging, especially for skill-based programs. Since we cannot always monitor the students and there have been instances where they turned off their cameras again while taking the tests, the validity of the assessment will always be questioned. Thus, designing an effective assessment, especially during remote learning, is a real challenge for teachers.

Today is also Mariel and Kobe's final teaching demonstration. I'm so proud of them because I can see how much they've grown. It's admirable how they create a student-centered classroom. I'm happy with the outcome of my demonstration teaching. Despite my expectations that they would be quiet after returning from Holy Week Break, everyone in the class is actively participating. They don't seem to be running out of ideas. They ask unexpected questions and share their personal experiences with the subject, making the class more enjoyable. I was also able to finish on time, which is a significant accomplishment considering the last time our Supervisor observed me, I was working overtime.

After my demonstration teaching, we have post-con. Hearing feedback from others is extremely beneficial because it gives me a fresh perspective on myself. Hearing positive feedback also encouraged me to work harder and do better.

I realize that I still have a lot to learn after reflecting on what happened during our demonstration teaching and the comments of our supervising instructor and cooperating teacher.

I taught at St. Luke for the last time. I will definitely miss this section because it is one of my favorites. They make the class more interesting by cracking jokes. Reading their message to me makes me almost cry because they are so thoughtful and kind. I'll miss everyone and pray that they remain safe at all times.

The first section I worked with was St. John, and they are very special to me. They are the section that is the most interactive and engaging. I learned a lot during my practice teaching. One of the things that I learned is to have good classroom management, as it helps in developing and maintaining students' conduct and order in the classroom. Implementing effective classroom management will boost student engagement and promotes social and emotional development. I will use this learning to do better in the future

We prepared a short presentation to express our appreciation for our cooperating teacher. We express our gratitude for her patience and kindness as we send her our messages.

I'm a bit sad because I'm going to miss the Grade 9 class. They are engaging, sweet, intelligent, appreciative, and thoughtful. When I first saw the class, I was astounded by their intelligence and ability to communicate their thoughts. That's when I realize my practice teaching adventure will be both exciting and challenging. I appreciate how they welcomed us into their class and treated us as if we were their actual teacher. All of the memories I made with the class will be treasured. I'm hoping to meet them sooner.
