In my opinion, it means that it is important to work hard and to make money, however, you shouldn't let money be the only thing that matters. Money can't buy happiness, so think about having fun and being happy, more than thinking about how to get more money. Of course it's important to make money, that's why the quote says to make some money. However, it's important to note that money isn't all that matters. For example, one of the seven deadly sins is greed. Greed is a natural response, created by evolution to always want more, so that humanity will always advance further and further.  Now that we have created a functioning society, our evolutionary instincts still remain with us, and now causes most of the world's problems. Greed is essentially the lust for power, and in society, money can get you power.
