    1-What reading strategies are you currently utilizing to support critical reading through your content and/or grade-level?
    Currently I use all of the critical reading strategies with my students. My typical critical read will consist of numbering the paragraphs and tapping into the students prior knowledge with a writing prompt. 
    We will then do a cold read to get the gist of the text followed by vocabulary.
    We will then do one or two of the following: Circle the names of sources and highlight what they said. (evidence) Highlight key words or ideas: Words that are repeated and or that relate to the EQ. Write in the margins by summarizing, Questioning, or writing a personal response to a specific chunk of text.
    2- What reading strategies would you like to start doing to support critical reading?
    One strategy that I would like to use is the reciprocal teaching roles. I think this would be a nice way to scaffold and differentiate the material for my students and allow them to all share their own personal piece.
    3-How will you strategically and intentionally plan to scaffold for and support moving the use of instructional strategy to instructional routine?  
    As I mentioned above I will scaffold this by assigning or allowing the students to choose which reciprocal role they would like to use.  I think by giving them a choice it will allow them to choose the role that they feel the most comfortable with. As time progresses I can then assign them different roles to further challenge them.

    Step 1: Identify an area of writing instruction you would like to focus on (example: I am going to work on low stakes writing like focused-note taking).
     I would like to focus on low stakes writing activities like quickwrites, stronger, clearer, and exit slips using sentence frames.
    Step 2: Using the 'Real to Ideal' table, identify a Current Reality you would like to focus on.
    Students could grow in the application of rigorous learning through low stakes writing activities such as quick writes, exit slips and poetry games.
     
     
    Step 3: Write down your “Ideal Implementation” based on your learning during this course and prior experience at your site in your eBinder.
    My ideal implementation would be to start my lessons out with quickwrites to get my students engaged, tap into their prior knowledge on the topic of the day, and also to help them find their voice. I would like to really incorporate sentence frames when asking my students to write and also when they share. I also would like to use sentence frames to assist my students when participating in socratic seminars and Philosophical chair activities.
    Step 4: Write down “Action Steps” to achieve your “Ideal Implementation” in your eBinder and use them to guide your next steps. 
    Create language scripts to post around the room and also give students a copy of them so they always have access to them. In addition I would like to create word walls in my room and really focus on making our academic vocabulary visual for the kids so they constantly are reminded of our words. In addition I would like to incorporate whole class lesson reflections with my classes and post them on the wall
