Students during the pandemic should have been compensated some way this year instead of pretending like it was as valuable an experience to just learn from your room all day. Teachers and faculty have also been harder to reach since everything "can" be done by zoom or via email. This kind of communication makes things very blurry and confusing and actually wastes a lot more time. In marketing, Aalto prides itself with Art & Design ranking #6 globally. In reality, ARTS is the least prioritized of the three founding schools. With every reform, ARTS is less free, budgets are cut, and made more efficient. While Aalto management and admin remain inefficient. Let's look at a few examples...

First digital tools, Aalto probably spent and keeps spending millions on licensing fees for software solutions that often have the same features as existing ones or are redundant.

Secondly, those tools most likely all require external consultants to develop and implement. External consultant are expensive (1k per day/person), but as long as management doesn't have to cut their budgets or salaries, nobody cares. #GoodFriendCircle

All this while Aalto maintains an IT department which really isn't helpful when you need them.

So why is none of the above made more efficient, I'm quite sure that there's more budget to be saved than in the ARTS...

I wasn’t introduced to the campus at all, told about the services, etc. Neither was there any support or understanding for the changing circumstances and how they effected us students, when normal lectures and courses started.
