There are multiple beaches in Gran Canaria.
There are the busiest and best known beaches, such as the large stretch of sands at Maspolomas, a long strip of golden sand that starts out at Playa del Ingles all the way along to the great lighthouse at Maspalomas, around a desert of dunes bathing the southern tip of the island.

Visitors will also find another set of beaches at the south, quieter family beaches, like at San Agustin, the beach at Amadores or the smaller one at Puerto de Mogan.

Alternatively you might prefer the more lively traditional tourist enclave of Puerto Rico, reknowned for having one of the best climates in the country.

Gran Canaria is known for its variety of different climates. The average daytime high temperature ranges from 20 degrees in winter, to 26 degrees in summer. Some cool nights occur in winter, but temperatures below 10 degrees are unknown near the coast. Inland the climate is still mild but mountainous areas see the occasional frost or snow.
Annual rainfall averages 228 mm, most of this falling in the cooler months, with July, August and September normally rainless. Rainfall is unevenly distributed through the island with some areas being much drier than others.
Cloud cover and sunshine is often quite variable during the cooler months, and there can be several rather cloudy days at times in winter. Summers are generally quite sunny however, with the south of the island being most favored.
