I chose Hillsboro as my community because Hillsboro was the city that I grew up in, have the best memory the most and the place where I have the most connection with my family, friends and people that I work with. Hillsboro is such an important place for me because this is the place where I was born. So already Hillsboro is an important place in my life, and this is the place where I spend time the most. Because this is where my family lives and my family have the most finest memories in Hillsboro whether it's going to different places, walking at the park or going to events in Hillsboro whether it's markets, and school events. Think that was important to me was my friends because when I started school it was a big change and I have no idea what I was doing and I didn't like this new change and I no idea what I was either doing right or wrong, But the people that help me were some classmates that also was dealing with the same issue I was having and because of thatWe decided that we were going to help each other figure it out and face whatever issue that we were having and those classmates became my friends, my friends of mine also live in Hillsboro. To me, Hillsboro is an important place because it's where the people that I love the most live in and this is the city that I feel the most comfortable in and the place that feels like home to me.

For me, the way I see global inequality and globalization affects Hillsboro in the context of social change is that the increase of social inequality, a diversified population and the big one that I see is the high cost of living. For me the one that I connect to with the most with my community with Hillsboro is the one I mentioned was the high cost of living because you have especially recently now that I'm more older and paying for myself now things are getting really expensive getting really hard to try to afford both going to college and for all the rest of the things I need for a living.

For me, the way I see economic systems affecting Hillsboro Oregon in the context of social change is that we as a community have engaged with residents to define its future of evolving our community identity such as diversity, equity and acknowledging change and working to remove barriers to opportunity. And for me the way that it affected me as for social changeIs education because for me right now I am taking PCC to find a pathway that I’m gonna be doing for a career and having PCC help me find opportunities and see what opportunities do I have out there, that's what the connection is with me and my community.

For me, the way I see institutions related to health and safety and the state affected Hillsboro Oregon in the context of social change is the efforts towards health equity, expanding the access of care, and the important one to me which is public safety. How I connect and how to change for me as my community is that now that I work the part of my job is that my job takes place outside and that in certain conditions it might either rain or there's hard wind or something that can harm my health and my safety and one thing that I do like that my job has is that they are reasonable and that they do care about our safety so when certainly things happen they care and they will not make us do something that is not either safe for our health, for all of us they will just have us do something else that would not require doing something that would put us in danger and that's one thing that I do Is that even though there's something happening they'll put us first in the job they just had us do something else.

For me, the way I see the institution of education systems affecting Hillsboro Oregon in the context of social change is by serving as for economic development and for promoting equity, and an important one for me is developing social norms. And for me how this affects me and how I connect with this is because I think I say this before but when I was young I did not like school and I was not the best when it was come to following rules and all that stuff when I started in the elementary school but when I got older and when I start going to middle and high school I started to follow the norms because for me I learn moreI understand that the things I was doing in elementary school was not the right thing and I started following the rules and listen to the other people and being respectful to my teachers but for others.

For me, the way I see the institution of religion affected Hillsboro Oregon in the context of social change is that for me one of the big ones in my committed that I connect with religion is what Hillsboro offers the social service because of someone who had our problems when younger Hillsboro had a lot of services to help with these type of people are problems offering them a lot of support with either with seminars for either communication, language support, and food to. And even though I didn't like all this stuff I am not going to lie I feel like it did help me a lot to learn more about all the rules and all the things that have people we can do and cannot do and learn how to be a more better person.

Social Movements

For me, the way I see how social movements affected Hillsboro Oregon in the context of social change is diversity and equity. And now this connects to me and how this affects me as someone who is diverse and looks different from what I experienced and seen Hillsboro does promote workforce equality and show that black lives matter and that it is meaningful to be in a place where we treated all equally and not be hateful to one another is something thatI rarely ever experienced that I never been question or be criticized of my race and I'm thankful for that. And how has my community Hillsboro Oregon been involved with the social movement from rapid to civil rights and immigration activism. Where Hillsboro residents have held demonstrations and called for action regarding the immigration enforcement issue, and the community has also engaged in an effort to support immigration through resources and information on their rights. And in the city Hillsboro has committed to equal work, and actively working to remove barriers and eliminate disparities.

Reflection

For me, the social changes that influence or most affect my community the most are globalization and inequality, health, safety and the state, and religion. And why I chose those is because for the first one globalization and equality the biggest one is the increased cost like for instance the increase of rent the housing cost and just general cost for a living. And this is a big one because as someone who is doing a part-time job because of going to college everything is getting so expensive now and it's getting hard to manage money because of how expensive everything is getting in things I need to make sure I save up so I can afford just a general cost of living. Next one health safety and the state I find that to be most it might community is health, safety, and the state because the way I see how now they are focusing on basic health safety and focus on the determinants of the health and safety, it's the school safety, public safety, and workplace safety they're trying to put people as the most important thing for Hillsboro. And the last one that I do believe that it affected my community changes the regional is because I see that they have been evolving for things like increasing diversity and other communities and their values of making sure that everyone in different types of communities and their diversity make sure they are all treated the same and make sure that there's a helping hand for each community and giving support to each different types of communities and also making sure that everyone's voices is heard.
