IN this slideshow, I wrote creative pieces in the form of vignettes and poems which were modeled off the novel House on Mango Street. There are three vignettes (My Name, Identity Event, Coming of Age) and three poems ( Bio Poem, Those who Don't, Gender Roles). In each piece, I focused on adding figurative language and using quality words to convey a certain mood.

This is a nonfiction piece where I compare topics from the vignette "My Name" and the article "The Power of Names". I discus how women with more feminine names may have it different from others for ex. "it talks about how women with names that could belong to either gender where notably more likely than women with more feminine names to become judges." I also discussed how more simple names are view more positively then more complex names.

This essay is based of the book Reboot by Amy Tintera. My essay is about answering an annotation question I created after reading my story. My essay connects to my story due to the essay revolving around the emotion and all around development of the book's main character Wren. The section I am most proud of is my third paragraph where I sum up how Wren has grew as a person throughout the book.
