the athour would use chronological text steucture because you need to be informed of when this all happend because if you dont know say " the world war 2 happed" you can explan well enough what happed. an example for the text is "In the mid- 1700s, England and france fought for north america" this is an example because it has a date with in this case is 1700. The sencond is " in 1763 England won the conflict" this is an example because like i stated it has a date wich again is 1700 but its 1763.

I think an author would use a chronological text structure when writing to inform because informing means to have facts. REAL facts. And some chronological text structures in the text were the 1700's or 1763(on page 18). Those are some examples of chronological text structures and informing. Another reason why is because on page 16 and 17, it states that in the mid- 17th century, the Ojibwa and Sioux had settled in areas throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Now the readers know when that happened. In the mid- 17th century. The years tell the reader, WHEN IT HAPPENED!!!

Some examples of this in the text are when they talk about when native americans were alive and how it has changed from that time to now.

Also its a history or sotial studies book its about native amaricans and native amaricans lived a LONG time ago and without chronological text in this book the midwest then we wouldnt even know when the natives setteled in the mid west or why the natives went to the mid west.

So it also says the time period and it helps because like i said it helps you visualize the past
