The article by Haci Hasan Yolcu suggests that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) has the potential to profoundly transform the role of teachers in education. This technology, with its advanced cognitive capabilities, can facilitate more personalized and dynamic learning, adapting to the specific needs of each student. Additionally, AGI can handle administrative and evaluative tasks, freeing up time for teachers to focus on the more human and creative aspects of teaching.

In the case of the English teacher, the inclusion of AI should imply a redefinition of their role, shifting from being a traditional knowledge transmitter to a facilitator and mediator of learning. AI can provide personalized resources, offer immediate feedback, and help identify specific areas for improvement for each student. This would allow teachers to design more effective and meaningful learning experiences focused on the holistic development of the student.

However, it is essential that technology does not replace the human dimension that teachers bring to the classroom. The teacher must maintain their role as an emotional guide, mentor, and motivator, fostering social skills, critical thinking, and creativity. For this integration to be successful, teachers need ongoing training in the ethical and responsible use of AI, ensuring that this tool enhances—but does not replace—the essential pedagogical bond between teacher and student.
