Narrative fiction that is intended to be more serious than humorous. Even though it's supposed to be more serious, I find some drama shows very funny because of some of the problems the producers come up with. My favorite drama is The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Thriller/Horror

Aims at influencing people psychologically by giving suspense, anxiety, excitement, etc. This genre is one of my favorites because some of the plots are so interesting. Some of my favorite scary movies are Sinister, Evil Rise Dead, and The Black Phone.

Comedy

Supposed to make the audience laugh and bring joy. Many children's shows use this genre but there are also a lot of adult shows that are seen as comedy. In my opinion comedy tv shows are shows you would watch with family.

Sitcom

A type of comedy that focuses on a set of characters throughout the show. A lot of shows that are sitcoms also focus a bit on drama. I think sitcoms use many different genres to make the show good.

Rom-com

Coming of age novels focus on the main characters journey from being a child to being an adult. They are relatable stories that often include common themes like losing one's childhood innocence and accepting that life is not always going to be perfect.
