When it comes to helping others, I prioritise their need for assistance over my own personal feelings on the person. This makes me a valuable team member, and gives me the ability to work in a group environment, even when my personality doesn't necessarily fit.
Excellent for script-writing/working in amongst a team of editors and writers.

Being an introvert can be quite damaging in the workplace. I've worked in 5 jobs over the course of my lifetime, and whilst I have many strengths that have worked in my favour, being an introvert has made things more difficult.
Social situations are important for work bonding, be it a conversation in a tea room, or a social drink after work, and if you don't wish to participate, you're seen as an outsider.
Working in amongst several other people, shoulder-to-shoulder, every day is also quite draining, and can lead to emotional outbursts that others see as irrational. It damages working relationships very easily.
This applies in editing and writing as I am required to converse and work with others quite regularly.

Easily Overwhelmed

I am good at multi-tasking, however I am not good with deadlines.
With editing and writing, deadlines are vital. There are usually multiple items due all at the same time.
This is something I need to be aware of in my chosen career path.

As a child, I was always asking how the world works, and why something was the way it was.
In a workplace, I have been complimented on this as a strength. Within my chosen career of editing and creative writing, asking questions is vital. Understanding why a character has chosen to commit an act, is important to storytelling.

Being creative lends itself to improvisation, compromise, and flexibility. Whilst originality in writing is becoming harder and more scarce, having a creative mind certainly helps with different approaches to storytelling.

Currently, I work in an industry that deals with a lot of death.
Empathy is vital to understanding, and providing caring for others.
Within my chosen industry, I need to understand that being empathetic towards someone's work that I am editing, is going to help them grow rather than crush.
It also assists in creative writing, as showing emotion in writing is vital to good storytelling.

Compromising

Being able to compromise means getting what you need, and giving a customer/workmate what they need at the same time.
Editing someone's writing is a compromise between ensuring their story is being told in the author's 'voice', and altering it enough that the reader gets a very clear understanding of what is happening as well.

Self-Conscious/People Pleaser

If I have an editor working on a piece of writing, I want them to conform to a deadline I have in place for my own productivity. Saying 'yes' all the time to someone putting off a task will damage my own productivity.

Perfectionist

This is a huge weakness for my chosen career as if it isn't perfect the first time, then I don't wish to continue working on it. Alternatively, I will pick at a piece of writing until it becomes too clinical and sterile, and the 'magic' of it is lost.

Eager to Learn/Improve

Knowledge is a gateway to the world, in my opinion. Being eager to learn will further my chosen career, as creative writing is an ever-changing and evolving process. Being aware of current trends, and how the world is changing around me is important to writing a piece of work that reflects thoughts and ideals how I want it to.
During performance evaluations, my voracious need for knowledge has always been listed as a strength as it makes an employee more valuable to a business.

Isolating
