4. Students will create a word problem using fractions with unlike denominators , present problem to the class and demonstrate to class how to complete the problem.

3. Students will read an attached passage from ReadWorks, and identify the theme.
4. Students will provide an extended response answer providing at least 4-5 sentences that provide evidence to defend their choice of theme.

I will assess their progress by the report online for flocabulary, and completion of the extended response prompt for the theme passage.

2. Students will earn a badge by selecting a book and writing what the author's purpose is and how they know. (explain their reasoning).
3. I will assess the work through a grade-level rubric. The rubric will consist of 2 major areas: state the author's purpose and give 2 text related examples supporting your answer. The students can receive up to 9 points. Each area will be scored as either a 1 (not meeting criteria), 2 (approaching meeting some criteria, and 3 (meeting all criteria).

1. I will be assessing citing textual evidence with character traits from our book study novel.
2. Students will pick a character from the novel. They will then pick a character trait that describes the character and find evidence that supports their claim.
3. I will assess the work by using a specific grading rubric on these skills: did they choose a character trait? Did they find a quote that supports their claim? Did they cite the evidence correctly? Did they include a page number?

2. The students have to connect point 1-3 in their theses to body paragraphs 1-3.
3. Assessment will occur through matching the points in the thesis statement with the points in the body paragraphs' topic sentences. They will get 1 point for every correct connection.

1. Students will be given an instructional level text will a set goal of wpm and maximum number of errors, for instance 3rd grade passage, 100 wpm, <3 errors.
2.Students will be given opportunities to read passages at this level, Students will be checked on their reading fluency with similar passages, with the goal in mind.

3. Assessment will occur through timed reading checks of students on leveled passages. Progressive badges would be available, so a student who can read 80 wpm with <3 errors would receive one badge, with the opportunity to receive higher achieving badges.

1) I will assess my students' ability to correctly identify weather fronts, and predict the type of weather associated with that front.

2) My students will earn the badge by following the link in their Edmodo assignment, and using the link to correctly answer the questions in my google form. The form asks for them to identify three fronts on a current United States weather map, and to predict the weather associated with these fronts.

3) The google form will be assessed for accuracy, and feedback will be given to each student on their work, as this form asks open-ended questions about the weather fronts.
