India's lack of gender equality disgusts me. From my own research, I understand that in order to best address this issue we must address disparities in economic opportunity and financial dependence between the men and women of our country. The cornerstone of said gender equality is achieving financial independence for all women. I believe that the ability to provide for oneself allows an individual an inherent self-confidence. That in turn allows one to face life’s unexpected challenges (including COVID-19, for instance), improve quality of life, and prevent and combat domestic financial abuse. And to top it all off, it tends to start a virtuous cycle where the girls of the next generation have strong role models to look up to. Therefore, I believe that the key to solving India’s gender inequality is to encourage women’s entrepreneurship.

Inequality, is one of the issues that disturbs me the most whether it is social, gender or race. The fact that these are the 'underlying' factors that hinders our access to opportunities. In India, these factors also contribute to the lack of education, where I believe we mistake literacy for education. Education and constant skill development contributes to our personal growth and the growth of our communities.

We can observe gender inequality in India, where there are still many girls/women who are not allowed to go to school, therefore it later creates a dependence on men in the family, to support them, especially financially. The financial literacy gap is huge between genders, most women depend on men to support them, promoting patriarchal traditions, with men being called the 'man of the family'.

The importance of financial literacy/ inclusion is huge, it creates a sense of responsibility, establishes higher self-esteem. I believe this is one of the ways in order to establish financial independence and bridge the gender finance gap, working towards gender equality.

Gender inequality, LGBT rights as human rights, mental health issues teens and young adults face, just overall humanity's lack of consideration and empathy for other individuals. We're all people living in the same world, the only problem is that we're not living the same lives. There are people who dread going home from school everyday because they then go from somewhere where they're accepted and understood to a place where they face being bullied and belittled by their own family members. It's so painful to see that such a 'progressive' world is still in a state where just existing is a problem. As someone who doesn't currently identify as cisgender, I've received a lot of support from peers, but myself and a lot of others would struggle to inform their parents or guardians of such a thing, and would also most likely face a lot of discrimation in the workplace or just by the rest of society later on in life. This upsets me beyond belief, and I'm working as hard as possible to help create a future where things like this are no longer a problem.

In my society, we had a certain area of land that was designed to fulfill the need of (planting trees) and the people of the society gave most of the responsibility to the young children and teenagers. This whole idea did spark lots of empathy within me to make that effort each day and spend that quality time with our plant and when I saw this image related mostly to our ecosystem it reinforced the issue within me.

Some parts of not acting up and enjoying life could be because of my surroundings and the fact that I haven't been exposed yet to the so-called "outside world". Additionally when Covid was at its peak and many people were not able to access necessary items I remember my dad had taken the initiative to donate some money and came on TV to speak about the current crisis back then and how this donation could hopefully help those in need.

I was recently reading an article and the main idea associated with the article was that happiness is found in people's willingness to take action on a particular issue, while going through all these images that was one common phrase that kept repeating in my head the fact that my parents were slowly indirectly trying to explain to me that we have to do the best we can in a given situation if we are aware that it is for a good cause.

In conclusion, the whole idea of cutting down trees according to me has gained a lot of popularity mainly because the essence of living each day has gone up by leaps and bounds. The fact that if you survive another day, it's a big deal. Deforestation, as well as viruses, are all man-made phenomenon's and if we created it we can destroy/ learn to live with it too.
