Hello! My name's Florina. I'm 25 years old and I'm from Romania. I teach romanian language and latin, in a village near Bistrita.
I'm teacher and PhD student in the same time. I study romanian grammar at the "Babes-Bolyai" University.
My school it's a middle school. Aproximately 200 students are enrolled at this school (from 6 years to 14 years). In this school are learning poor students so it's not very "technological". In our school isn't a tablets or a laptop. There are 9 Computers and a very low internet connection.
It's so hard to improve the lessons, but it's necessarily so I bought a tablet and I want to learn all about creative use of Tablets in Schools.
I'm so glad that I can participate at this course!

For me, it's so important to use tablets in my teaching because my students are preparing for tomorrow not for today. This is why I bought a tablet. I never used one until last year.
The Technology is the "thing" of the moment. There is no mistaking that digital tablets, iPads, and other items of technology in the classroom are a hugely popular trend among children. Beyond the fact that students love tablets and they keep the students engaged, these items save schools money by combining books, calculators, and word processors, all into one handy device. Not to mention that the easy-to-use interface makes it simple for even the youngest children to manipulate. However, many teachers who get the opportunity to have such technology in the classroom are unsure of how to utilize it. Here we will take a brief look at a few ways teachers can use digital tablets and iPads in their classroom.
There are numerous ways that a digital tablet can assist students with special needs. There are apps that can assist students with speaking or who have trouble understanding social situations. There are also apps to help students communicate emotions or help with conditions like Dyslexia.

It's very hard to teach in a traditional mode in the 21 century.

We have some challenges to overcome.

Other collegues do not know how to use the computer or tablets.

So, for starters it's need to form these teachers. Teachers’ continuous training and support is essential. Teachers will become familiar with new teaching styles.

Other problem, it's money. Budgets are always a concern in education. In Romania, especially, it's very hard to survive like teacher.

To use tablets in every classroom in every school from Romania it will be very expansive. Our budget it's very modest.

Parents should be involved in this new educational process. Now, they are not involved in their children's education.

For me it's a dream to use tablets or other devices in my classroom, but isn't imposible

I have never use Edmondo in my classroom, but I want to use this apps because it's very usefull. Edmodo attracts teachers and students with a social
element that resembles Facebook, but there’s even greater value in the
educational applications. Edmodo (designed by educators) enables
exceptionally secure cloud-based collaboration. A teacher, school, or district
easily can manage a system that provides the best features of the cloud while
practically eliminating the anxiety that we associate with students on the
internet.

One of the most important challenge in implementing tablets for education is
that most if not all software / applications’ user interface (UI) are developed in English. In my school, the students don't learn to speak English in kindergarten. They learn later, at 10 years old. Therefore teachers’
training to use the classroom management system in English needs to be done or to develop applications and
materials to be custom developed in Romanian in order for this project of implementing tablets in classroom for elearning
a success.

Therefore one of the major issues was the mobile device management (MDM) of tablets within the
classroom. Usually MDM is being carried out and managed by IT staff, but in the case of school, they wanted to
give access to the teachers to manage students’ tablets in their classroom. Another issue was the class control, as
students with the tablets could be playing games, use social networking sites or just waste their precious
classroom time. In order to address these issues, the school had to go for a classroom management system
through which teachers can control students’ tablets and can make sure that they are not playing or wasting the
time during the class time.

I agree wit

The parents might want to know how the ICT is exactly used in the school, what kind of rules should be applied to the use of tablets at home, how they can get updates during the school year, etc.
This is one of the points the teachers involved in the Creative Classrooms Lab project or any other school using tablets need to consider. To this end, three teachers working in the CCL project will present their experiences and best practices in a webinar on how to best inform and involve parents on the use of tablets by their children.
About the presenters:

Lisa Cowell from the Penwortham Priory Academy at UK,

Hannes Thomas from the NMS Jennersdorf at Austria,

Simona Granfol from the Highschool Gimazija Jožeta at Slovenia
