I hope smell + radio is an option. I really like this advertisement of Dunkin' Donuts because they placed their audience exactly in the right mindset that they wanted them to be in. Possibly tired commuters may not always be listening to advertisements that have become white noise. Instead, Dunkin Donuts added a smell, something that can awaken the senses of their audiences and left a craving for them which can be satisfied at their destination. I like how Dunkin Donuts does not just think of what to make the ad about, but also how they want it to affect their audience. They weren't shy to play around with other senses to get sale :)

Hi! I'm Julia, but people call me Chuchay:)) The ad that I chose is by Manulife and I have a couple reasons why I chose it. Firstly, I'm a sucker for anything that makes me cry, and that's exactly what the ad did to me. In such a short amount of time, it was able to present a story spanning decades and decades in just a couple of minutes. Secondly, the song in the ad "Wag Kang Matakot" means a great deal to my family and I. I know the original song was sung by the eraserheads, but the rendition heard in the commercial is just so comforting that it makes you really feel the lyrics. Also, low-key flex lang hehe, but my dad was actually the one who mixed the audio for the ad:))

I like it because it shows how we sometimes might not be near to those who matter, but we can still stay connected. For what's more, the poetic style of the ad also kept my attention and kept me reeled in the whole time. The story is also compelling--I remember messaging my friends for a happy hour session on discord, with, of course, a bottle of Heineken :)

Cheers!

I'm a 4 AB Psychology student, taking up a minor in Marketing.

I've personally never watched BBC's Dracula, but I haven't been able to get this ad out of my head since I first saw it. I love that it's more than a print ad. They could have just left the stakes in a random pattern and called it a day. Alternatively, they could have shown the actors in a typical poster. It would have done the job of promoting the show. The bloody protruding stakes would have been intimidating on its own, but then they go beyond that. There is an atmospheric tension created with the shadows growing into the silhouette of a vampire as the night creeps in. It builds on the content of the show without being too explicit about it. It's visually interesting to look at, especially from the time lapse perspective, which builds more interest for the show itself. Lastly (and honestly), I just love a good practical effect. I appreciate design in all its forms, but to build something like this takes a palpable level of care and creativity. As a hopeful creative, its something to aspire to.

It perfectly defined which competitor it was trying to call out without having to explicitly name its brand. I also realized, as a consumer, that smart watches right now feature too much noisy notifications and information when there are some people that just really want to look at their watch to simply know the time of the day— which is the very purpose of a watch. This ad was very impressive for me because it made sense.

From actually constructing a wooden board-up around the Moa Globe (which is about 8 stories tall) to releasing “leaked videos” seemingly "proving" that the MoA globe was missing to having strategic digital out of home placements and brand partnerships with Rappler and SM to so many more touchpoints, every detail of this campaign was so strategic and ultimately culminated into a viral national discussion. Moreover, this ad truly challenged me in that it pushed me to be more detail-oriented and solution-driven as an account manager and as a person in general given all of the facets I was managing.

I'm Pio Silva from 4 BS MGT and I'm taking up a Specialization in Marketing.

The most recent ad that I was emotionally impressed by was Braun's "For the Sake of Keeping" back in 2019. The German brand has always been a champion of valuable products that are built to stand the test of time. Personally, I'm a big fan of classic and clean looks on products while also lasting longer than expected. The idea of the ad was based on an actual narrative wherein the son gifts his father a Braun electric razor. All gifts may have a personal meaning, but they also carry an item with good quality and heartfelt purpose. Even after 40 years of use, the maker of the shaver was able to repair it. This upholds Braun's promise of "not designed to be thrown away." It's a simple and somewhat trivial, but profound ad.

My favorite ad would be this Youtube ad by KitKat that pauses your video while also incorporating their famous tagline "Have a break, have a KitKat." I like this ad because it's a very simple ad that uses less to make a more impactful ad. Unlike other ads that try to cram more images and sound to create a lasting impact in a short amount of time, this ad does very little to convey information to the viewer while also managing to say a lot. The campaign (and the product range itself) is grounded on the insight that women struggle to do sports because of improper sports bra fit. Considering a strong product research and market survey, adidas came up with a bra range that has 43 styles in 72 sizes. The messaging was angled in supporting diversity with the key idea as "Support is Everything" and I think it succinctly encapsulates the product's benefit and the adidas value of supporting women.

This is my favorite commercial because of my passion for the automotive industry and cars in general. Its comedic take on the supernatural while highlighting the brand's tagline in terms of being the "Ultimate Driving Machine" is what makes the advertisement ingenious and unforgettable for me. This is achieved by how the roles are reversed and the ghost in the commercial is instead the one frightened by the car's autonomous driving feature due to the absence of any passengers in the car cabin.
