We lived with super - insects
that grew to giant size,
we knew the mega - millipedes
and 2 froot dragonflies
We crawled through changing climates
but always liked it warm;
we'd gobble almost anything
and turn into a swarm
We've spent the eons hiding
from feet both large and small -
no matter they stomp us,
the can not kill us all!

I stepped in some gum, and I felt really dumb
When my tennis shoe got stuck to the street
I pulled and I tugged , then I hopelessly shrugged
while my face turned as red as a beet.

So I took off my shoe, for what else could i do,
and limped home looking quite pale and ashen.
But lo and behold , the next day I was told
that I'd started a popular fashion.
