The question is the same for all three stages to show how their ideas will evolve with new evidence and to promote class discussion.

Students will be given a list of Timeline apps that can be used to create a timeline to demonstrate the evolution of chemistry. This gives a visual representation and allows students to research and create, rather than simply copying down notes.

Safety is an important topic in chemistry more than any other high school science course, and yet not much time is spent teaching about safety in relation to other topics. The students will be assigned or pick one safety rule from the Flinn Scientific Safety Contract to create a Flipgrid video about. Applicable Flipgrid videos can then be viewed before each lab as a reminder of safety protocols. I have completed an instructional video that I would use to instruct the students on what to do to complete the assignment.

The Scientific Method is a topic that students are often exposed to in middle school, but students don't often realize that the steps are followed every day without their realizing it. I would challenge students to pick an everyday event to illustrate the steps of the Scientific Method through a digital flowchart. Students have freedom to pick both the everyday event and the flowchart app.
