At first it was difficult to communicate with the elderly because they sometimes may not have heard me or did not understand me. They looked a bit rushed as well sometimes and will not notice me asking them stuff.

When we went up to help bring the food back to their homes, I noticed that their flats had very little space and barely any amenities.

It was a new experience since it was my first volunteer project in which I had to distribute things to the elderly(and sometimes have to help them get home).

The elderly on the mobility scooters were too fast to catch up with especially while carrying their goodies. But some of them were pretty cool, so I had fun

I observed that the elderly have many friends that they greet when they meet each other in the corridors. It gets a bit difficult to help the elderlies sometimes as they might not speak as fluently as us or they may have a hard time hearing so we have to try our best to communicate with them so that we can assist them. (Cats were also there so hooray)

The Service Learning project was very fun and fulfilling. Being on the activities team, we got the opportunity to interact with the elderly and get to know them. However, there is always a storm before the calm. Hence we had to adapt and improvise on site. Using resources we had, we managed to set up a successful booth!

During the service learning project, I was able to go up to the elderly's home(outside the home, in the corridors) and it was the first time I saw those types of homes and it was eye opening for me.

Honestly the other organisations' volunteers were very active and participative and were friendly enough to work with us and help us transform our class project into something better

I saw how the elderly had homes that were squeezed next to other homes. However, i also managed to learn some interesting stuff, such as how despite their living conditions, some elderly people were conversing happily with the other seniors, which caused me to reflect on the fact that even with such hardships, people can still find joy in doing the simplest of things

When distributing food to the elderly, I felt that it was a bit confusing at first as we were supposed to let the elderly decide if they wanted to take the food yet be fast at the same time so that the other elderly do not have to wait for a long time.

It was a fun and interesting experience where I got to learn more about the lives of the elderly there. Being able to volunteer was a fun experience. A challenge faced would probably be the language barrier since some of the elderly speak dialect which most of us do not understand. However, with the common language of a simple nod or shake, we would be able to understand them.

Before participating in the project, I thought that there were not that many people who struggle to get daily neccesities in Singapore. (considering SG average salary quite decent) However, through this experience, I found out that there were actually so many people struggle to afford a simple apartment and daily neccesseities. Although life is tough for them, most of them are really nice and friendly to talk to.

The elderly were really nice and friendly, told us some of their experiences and they were quite interesting. One of them kind of told us about a scam call. Overall it was really fufilling and enjoyable helping them out.

It was a rather fun experience that allowed me to talk to more people and get to know more about other people from different age groups. I also got to know more about the organisation and why they were volunteering. Through this experience, I realised that although I may not see many people who require help in Singapore, it does not mean that there are none.

I thought some of the elderly were pretty cool and energetic for their age. It was a new and fun experience as it was my first time doing this sort of thing.

When bringing the food up to the elderly's homes, I saw how their HDB flats and apartments differed from ours, as well as looking at the inside of the houses to see they have little furniture, making me truly understand the living state of the elderly
