According to the NAACP, California was among the few states that lynched more whites than blacks due to political reasons not racial reasons. <br>Many of the victims were immigrants who had chosen to do the wrong decisions. <br>Many in California watched the public lynching events as entertainment or watched it as a show.<br>"A few men pose below the branches of a hanging tree.
