1.Self-Reliant Fictional Character. Sherlock Holmes

Holmes embodies the characteristics of self-reliance as he totally relies on his wits and devious detective skills to resolve any quarrel he is in. he understands that every resolve will be best suited by his own method and understands how, "no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till." Holmes, "...would be a man must be a nonconformist. He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of goodness..." this quote is a parallel to his unusual detective methods and problem solving skills totally derived from his intellectual mind.

Yes, it may be near impossible to achieve, but it sure is a very favorable scenario for humanity. That society would be thriving as everyone would not blame anyone for a particular problem but only rely on themselves to achieve a perfect society. The individual would want to better themselves, thus creating a foundation where no one would hold progress back. There would be obstacles such as certain individuals who wouldn't have the drive to better themselves and to be totally reliant on society. While no one will continue to help them, the coming generations would be rid of any who impose that mindset upon themselves and leave the world with independent individuals working twords this sort of perfect Utopia.
