Students are competing with themselves, not others... We have to foster a class climate of safety and inclusivity. Teachers need to get to know students and help build connection. Students need to know they are free to be themselves and welcome to show who they are. But at the same time, the expectation on the teachers are high and for some teachers with a high workload it is overwhelming.
