Many Natives had died before the Pilgrims arrived in New England so the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims to farm and hunt.

King Philips' War- Started over land the whites eventually won and the Wampanoag's were devastated.

The Spanish enlisted as trading partners with the Native Americans. There was heavy intermarriage between the two groups. Religion, trading, and marriage were integral parts of each ones culture and joining cultures around such topics served as a platform for the cultures to collide.
