We don't know a lot about the depths of our own solar system yet, let alone other stars. Currently, we have news coming out that we just landed on Mars and are now collecting data about the planet's soil, and the only other planetary object we explored thoroughly is our Moon.

Speaking of which comes my next point, we haven't developed proper space travel. This may seem farfetched, but there's a good reason behind it. We just don't have the technology to see that far. We have no idea how far away they could be, or even if they have done things similar to humans. Aliens cold survive on something entirely different than what we do. They could need to be somewhere extremely cold, or need there to be no water anywhere. We know nothing about what could be out in space, and what they need to live.

   We have seen things that people try to cover up all the time or someone says it is a star when really there is no star that is right there that big. 
There is possibilities of things that can live not on earth. There is definitely a large chance that we are not alone out here because of frozen ice on some planets, so it would be possible for something to live there even despite the cold temp that froze the water in the first place

First of all, there are million of planets out there that probably have ideal conditions for life. Aliens could be just like us for all we know.
