Take-away: The film is about an African-American man who is killed and restarts the same day. No matter what he does he is killed every day. It brings to light the mistreatment African-Americans experience in the US and that many times there is no cause or reason for the injustice.
Recommend: Short 30 minutes, yes. ]]> 2021-06-30 21:37:18 UTC https://padlet.com/rallen70/2xo7dmd6b73ibjhr/wish/1632310593 https://padlet.com/rallen70/2xo7dmd6b73ibjhr/wish/1632310613 My biggest take away from this film is the self image Native Americans feel they have to portray to the rest of society as well as the impact alcoholism and poverty have on the Native community.  Broken families are common and it is seen as a weakness to show emotions.  This leads to further alcoholism in the next generations.  It is a film that shows these concepts as well as some of the positive concepts of the Native communities, such as togetherness and caring for family and community.  I would definitely recommend watching as it is a good film that shows the trials and tribulations many Native Americans experience and have to overcome and a journey of self realization and acceptance.

The film tells of all the hardships Solomon endured on his journey and  how he had his identity stripped, family taken from him and the unjust submission he was forced into through violence. The movie showed me that when given the opportunity to help others, many will turn a blind eye given the correct circumstances.
